On Saturday, May 15,the Morton Arboretum partnered with District 6 to continue the "Planting for the Future" project. We planted almost 40 new oak trees across our school sites. Volunteers were taught proper tree planting techniques that would promote healthier tree growth.

The first week of May is Teacher Appreciation Week. The District, as well as, East Elementary celebrated their teachers for all of their amazing accomplishments this past year. East wrapped up Teacher Appreciation Week by asking teachers to dress-up as their superhero selves. Teachers are superheroes in disguise!

Shop With a Cop
Shop With a Cop

This past Saturday, December 5th, the City of Zion Illinois Police Department held Shop With a Cop at Walmart Zion. There were over a dozen police officers (elves) helping our students pick out gifts this year. Each student received $25 for every person in their families and themselves.
